In February of last year I had an accident on my bike that got pretty gnarly. While riding some street with my dad, I had my accident. I attempted bunny hopping over a parking lot planter, it was around 5 feet in length and I usually was able to hop over it no problem. This night though I wasn't as lucky, I miscalculated my timing when jumping over the planter and went over the handlebars and landed on my face. I blacked out and my dad tried to wake me up, he also called the ambulance. When I became conscious I couldn't remember who I was or why I was on the ground in pain. I barely remember my ambulance trip but I got to the hospital soon after.I got a cat scan and found out my orbital was possibly broken. your orbital is basically your cheekbone. I got cleaned up by the doctors and went home with a pair of crutches because I had sprained my leg as well. after around a month I was back on the bike and ready to go.

An Intro
My name is Matteo and this blog is about my experience riding bikes in the past, present and future.
An overview
I started riding bikes when I was young, but the passion for riding really took off when I joined my school's mountain bike club and started on some rides. I started off with little skills and a beater bike. Throughout the next two years at that school I progressed quite a bit, and went from a sketchy noob to a confident rider. I had some experiences good and bad but it was the start of something bigger. I became more extroverted and social after I started riding bikes, and I think bikes molded the person I am today, which I am proud of. during the first year of high school I progressed even more, In the process I had some gnarly accidents, but I have to say it was the best year of my life. Today I live and breath to ride my bike. I've owned 9 bikes since I started riding, and never turn down a ride .
